Great Construction

Opening Remarks (Chijōtengoku 7)

When we consider the conditions of the world at present, there are probably not that many who are able to live their lives without anxiety. In this world so filled with social evil today, materialists single us out as superstitious, but the interesting thing is that even those of a materialistic outlook and such others can not say when they may come down with some disease. But when they do meet that fate, they pay a lot of money and even if they repeatedly beg on their knees to doctors and hospital staff, they do not get better; rather, their conditions worsen and after they have suffered terribly, in desperation they come to the place they ordinarily criticize harshly. The Japan Kannon Church helps them and they follow us. They doubt when they first receive Johrei, but as they receive benefit, and for a fraction of the cost of medical treatment, they are cured in a very short time. Of such experiences reported in the testimonials that are submitted to this magazine and to our newspaper there are so many that we cannot carry them all. In any case, these individuals have been saved, so they have attained eternal happiness, but there are probably also many who will persist in their criticism until the day they die. When they get to the spiritual world and regret, it is too late. The most important element in perceiving this situation is honesty. Through honesty, one’s life is saved, but we see too many examples where through stubbornness, life is lost.
It is our fervent desire that through reading this magazine as many as possible learn the importance of being honest with themselves.
