Great Construction
What Did You Get from Testimonials? (Hikari 36)
The number of testimonials to the efficacy of Johrei that have been recorded in our publications has become astronomical. Moreover, since it appears that those numbers will continue to increase, the facts of how tremendous is the efficacy of the Japan Kannon Church’s unique faith healing therapy are still more than demonstrated. In these facts, however, are the aspects of medical science that cannot be overlooked.
Of course, among the civilized peoples there is no one who does not appreciate the blessings of the progress of modern medical science and who does not in fact trust it without any doubt whatsoever. In contrast to the unshakeable existence of the most important position that medical science occupies in our culture, it is no exaggeration to say that the frank declarations of our opinion are without precedent. We ourselves, however, would not take any pleasure in lifting a pen in censure if modern medicine were appropriately efficacious, as most of the world does believe and truly helped to improve the health of human beings. Moreover, in the light of present laws and ordnances, there is even a danger that our efforts are considered to be meddling in and obstructing medical treatment.
The more we apply and study the basics of the science of divine healing, however, the more keenly we feel that medical science has gone astray. Therefore, no matter how much effort and research continues or is increased, judged from results, there will be no real advance, and modern medicine will only be the discovery of a reality of an impressive parade of events that do not change fundamental conditions at all. The sharpest indication of this assertion is in the observation of the increase in the number of the sick and the decrease of the general level of health. When one new disease seems to have been conquered, another new disease appears.
This tragedy occurs because in the fundamentals of medical science lies hidden a great fallacy. And, it is we who have discovered this fallacy. Moreover, the raw reality of how much our spiritual healing therapy is actually presenting results are the reports of the testimonials to Johrei. There is probably no evidence greater than these reports. Needless to say, since these reports are written by the individuals who actually experienced the results, there is no room for even one speck of doubt.
The first thing that should surprise when reading the accounts of the miracles is that almost without exception the first thing that writers do when a disease is contracted is to quickly seek medical treatment, but it is a fact that the more treatment received, the worse the condition becomes. Of course, in these cases, though human life is at stake, in spite of hospitalization in a large facility, consultation with a famous doctor, or administration of the latest drugs, in spite of the burden of time and money that are utilized to the fullest extent the writer can manage, as described previously, conditions, worsen, leading even to the verge of death. Nothing is as grave as a situation like this. As I described above, the theory and results of medical science are all but backwards. As is often described in the testimonials, in spite of the fact that the doctors tell them, promise them healing, the results often do not turn out that way.
That the reality does not match or is completely opposite from theory is something doctors probably experience all the time. That in large hospitals, there can be conspicuous differences between the diagnoses of patients and the conclusions on their autopsies after death is something I hear often. Even in their dreams, doctors do not think that the reason for these differences stem from the error of medical science, but rather put these differences down to the backwardness of medical science. Doctors renew themselves to the cause of the progress of medical science, believing it their duty, so from our viewpoint, there are no words to describe this excessive error. Due to this error, doctors and researchers devote themselves to experimenting on animals, discovering new germs, using radiation, developing new pharmaceuticals, improving nutrition, and other measures, all for increasing the power to heal disease. An indication of this focus is that the fields of medicine expand, becoming varied and complicated. The names of new diseases appear and their numbers grow, and thus the names of the fields of specialization increase with research being undertaken in every crook and cranny. Medical theories and treatments appear to have made wonderful advances, and people the world over are dazzled by the development, place all their confidence in medical science, even though what is most important, the efficacy of treatment has not made any progress at all. Indeed all we see is merely a skillful but temporary alleviation of pain by treatment of outside symptoms.
Furthermore, because of an excessive belief in this progress, there is no reaction but for a deep sigh when medical science is dispassionately critiqued. In simple terms, because the application of theories that are quite divorced from reality is attempted, the expected results are not obtained. There would be no problem if at the level of research only guinea pigs were affected, but never will be known how many human beings have been sacrificed in the name of progress. Therefore, the true art of healing is one of accord between theory and reality. What is more, if academic theories were truth, we would gradually be on the path toward solving the problems of parasites, tuberculosis, infectious diseases, palsy, infantile polio, nor would there be the rampant spread of the diseases that we see now.
True salvation will only come when the world has been caused to be bathed in the blessings of having awakened to the fallacy of contemporary medical science.
Such being the situation at present, with God’s great love at this time of the end of the world, we seek to reconcile this imbalance. Nevertheless, medical science has continued on its mistaken path for many centuries, so it is extremely difficult to awaken humanity to this fact overnight, but those of us who believe in God’s absolute power continue with no doubt whatsoever toward a crystal clear future of light.
