Truth About Health
As I explain to you about health, what I would like you to keep in mind first of all is the fact that the ultimate essence of health lies in living in accord with Nature, in having respect for Nature. What you should consider before anything else in this regard is what purpose God, the Creator, had in creating human beings.
According to our interpretation, He sent us here with the mission of helping Him create a world filled with truth, virtue and beauty. It must be hard for you to accept such an idea easily. Of course, we can never tell how man thousands, millions, even billions of years it will take to establish such an ideal world. However, as you think of the solemn fact of the past years in which the world made progress toward that ideal step by step, you will not be able to deny it, either. The real truth is that with God, Who is Spirit, and man, who is the physical manifestation of Him, working together the world is making limitless progress. And, we human beings are caused to exist to be in charge of the work to be done on this plane, as assigned to use by God.
Since such is the mission give us, we should realize what a great responsibility human beings have in this world. In order to achieve this tremendous project the first and most important condition must be man’s health. In this sense it is a matter of course that God has assigned each human being a mission of his own to achieve and has endowed him with health so he may be able to perform his work. The reason for this is that God’s purpose could not be attained if man did not have good health. When we consider deeply with this as our basis of reasoning, we come to understand that good health should be the innate state of man, his normal condition. Yet, strangely, a human being is very susceptible to illness, which is an abnormal condition. When we come to perceive this fundamental point clearly and do our best to bring the abnormal state back to normalcy, we can be in accord with God’s purpose.
In this sense, when we study the reason the abnormal state of a person has been brought about we find that the person has been living contrary to the laws of Nature. Therefore, what the true art of healing should do is find out where the person has erred in living in accord with Nature, correct the error and bring the health back to normalcy; the correct art of healing should be able to do just that. Now, I will explain in detail what is contrary to the laws of Nature.
When a person is born on this earth plane, he first takes mother’s milk or animal’s milk. This is because he does not have any teeth yet and his digestive organs are still small and weak. By the time he has cut all of his teeth and the inner organs have matured, he is eating foods that are appropriate for his age.
There are all kinds of food, each having its own special flavor. The body is endowed with a taste-bud so the individual can enjoy what he eats; this is the way God has constructed a human being. Also, there are air, fire and water, all of which exist in the amounts necessary for his health.
A human body is also provided with a brain which contains reason, memory and emotion. There are legs which make the human body move to wherever the person wants to go; and he is provided with all necessary parts such as hair, skin, nails, eyes, nose, mouth and ears. In addition, his entire body is enveloped with skin, including his face, making it look beautiful. This is only a rough sketch. When we study each part in more detail we find it to be an exquisite expression of God’s creative skill, which cannot be easily described in words. In one flower, one leaf, in scenery, in birds, beasts, fish and even insects the wonderful skill expressed by God cannot but fill us with admiration.
Of all creation, a human being is the greatest masterpiece of the Creator; especially the exquisite modeling of the reproductive organs for the preservation of the species is indeed more than words can express. Since a human body is such a great masterpiece of God’s Creation, we should know that an abnormal state of illness which impedes human activities must be the result of a great mistake, of acting against the law of Nature. All human beings should reflect on themselves, specifically focusing on this point.
