What all religions are aiming at, needless to say, is to realize a better world, to get rid of all the sufferings of humanity, and to build a world full of joy and happiness. Jesus gave the great prophecy, “Heaven is a hand.”
Regrettably for this united ideal of all religions, the actual state of affairs is far from the realization of such a world; even improving to the point of getting out of the existing hell-like circumstances seems to have a long way to go.
Since ancient days both in the East and in the West, people have been making great, incessant efforts through religion, philosophy, science, moral standards and education. So, why is it that even today no trace of progress has been seen? There seems to be not even the first ray of hope of solution to the impaired health of human beings, the root of all tragedies. This is the actual state of affairs we are in today.
I have spoken about this so many times, perhaps until people are now tired of hearing it. But I don’t think we can talk about this particular subject too much, for unless the problem of health is completely solved, even though all the other conditions have come to be realized there will be no meaning to this at all.
On the other hand, the spiritual healing I have established will make it possible to eradicate all kinds of diseases from human beings, making them perfectly healthy. It is because this discovery is so great and its level so high about that of the present civilization that it can be all the more easily misunderstood. This is just like the fact that it is impossible for a person standing on the ground to see the top of the head of a person standing on a roof.
Look! When we inquire into the root of all tragic events we invariably find the cause to be sickness. We have seen one young person who was attacked by tuberculosis; another who became sick with the same disease just when he was ready to graduate from a high academic institution, making not only him but his parents feel lost because their only hope in life had been destroyed, so all were thrown into an outlook of a fearful future, not knowing what would become of them. We have met a middle-aged man who had a setback in the midst of a promising enterprise because of sickness; another person who fell ill just when he had finished laying the foundation of a project and was ready to begin working on it, making it impossible for him to go any further. In most of the tragic cases we know of, the cause of trouble and unhappiness has been sickness.
In the midst of such a world full of misery, our spiritual healing treatments have suddenly appeared. Those who have joined our church and have grasped the truth of our teaching can easily understand what a wonderful healing method ours is.

“Kenkō ni Yoru Tengokuka,” originally published on the front page of the only extra edition of the newspaper, Hikari, May 20, 1950, was reprinted, while Meishu-sama still alive, in Jikan Sōsho Daijūhen Shinji no Kenkō Jikan Library, Volume 10, The Divinely-Inspired Approach to Health), page 38, April 20, 1950. Also while Meishu-sama was still alive, the newspaper version was reprinted in the essays anthology for ministers Goshinsho: Shūkyōhen (Divine Writings: Volume on Religion), page 231, March 25, 1954. The newspaper version of “Kenkō ni Yoru Tengokuka” also appears in the anthology Igaku Kankei Goronbun Shū (Collected Essays on Medical Science) that did enjoy a limited circulation. Igaku Kankei Goronbun Shū contains no publication data, but internal evidence suggests that its editing stopped several months preceding Meishu-sama’s death. Furthermore, since the book lacks publication data, whether the volume had Meishu-sama’s imprimatur or not is unknown, so details concerning this volume are probably impossible to research. The book version of “Kenkō ni Yoru Tengokuka” has previously appeared in translation. Citation is given below for reference.
