Great Construction

Low Grade Fever

Most likely there is no one today who does not have low grade or mild fever. Whether individuals perceive it or not is probably the only difference. Unexpectedly however, low grade fever has great impact on the human body, so I will discuss that topic here. Putting down to paper merely what comes to mind of the influences, I start with headaches and feelings of fullness in the head, poor power of concentration, inattention which becomes pronounced that leads to decline in memory, lack of perseverance, becoming easily annoyed for fabricated reasons, continually sluggish and dull physical body that makes individuals want to throw themselves into bed. Also, appetite is weak; likes and dislikes are many; dampness and moisture are preferred; something to drink is always desired; temperament changes easily; depressed, the gloomy world is boring, so pessimistic things are always in mind. Hysteria is a part of being negative, rainy days are preferred over clear ones, colds are easily caught, the nose gets stuffy and there is often ringing in the ears, tonsillitis is easily contracted, walking quickly and ascending slopes produces shortness of breath with the legs feeling heavy. The influences are by no means insignificant.
Because the impact on the body can appear in these many ways, friendships do not go well; relations with others are not satisfying; spousal household relations are poor, and the afflicted does not get along with parents, children, siblings; their own excuses and explanations are always forced upon others; all deeds are given rationales; behavior is selfish and arbitrary. In these last instances particularly, liberalism is often offered as a pretext. Because home life is dull, offensive action is apt to occur, and the recent increase of runaway juveniles probably stems from this reason. And for the same reason are probably the catastrophic instances of murder-suicide when the whole family loses life.
The harm does not end here. Seen from a social perspective, when individuals look only to their own rationales, harmony lacks, and even trivial matters immediately become the object of arguments with altercations breaking out over concerns that could have been settled otherwise. All such occurs due to self-centeredness. These examples appear quite often in politics. And in organizations, when deliberating on one issue, there is just too much argy-bargy, and finding agreement on one point takes a lot of time. Rather than saying that society does not perceive the cause, it appears that society has no concern about the problem.
But there is still more. In this society where everything is annoying and irritating, it seems people do bad things rather than good things, for some reason or another, they get distracted, and at this stage, remedy is sought in alcohol. No matter how expensive the price of alcohol becomes, its consumption rate does not decrease probably due ultimately to mild fever. And, in other respects, to lessen the pain in the head, enjoyment of strong stimulus is sought. Young people get carried away with cabarets, dance halls, slot machine parlors, and other dissolute activities. Old people do similar things. The elderly with more than enough money will take a mistress or visit the red-light districts seeking comfort. In whatever direction we look the flourishing of unhealthy amusements is the state of the world today.
The fundamental cause of all evil aspects that have been described above is for the most part low grade fever, and thus there is nothing more frightening. And yet, there are still more issues. It is most troublesome that when undergoing a physical check-up, examinees are often diagnosed in the first stage of tuberculosis because of low grade fever. The moment the examinee is informed, absolute rest is prescribed and various reverse-effect therapies are conducted, as a result of which, after many long years of suffering, a good percentage end up dying. It is probably difficult to say whether even one person in a hundred is able to recover and work again, so from whatever angle the problem is observed, the only answer is that everyone must come to have a physical body that does not suffer from low grade fever.
So, what is the cause of low grade fever? Low grade fever is entirely due to the medicinal toxin within the human body. Medicinal toxin accumulates and solidifies in various regions of the body, so gently purifying activity occurs in the form of low grade fever. To truly cure low grade fever, there is absolutely no other way than with Johrei. As the number of followers of World Messianity increases, all of the ugly, offensive behavior listed above disappears. When such behavior disappears, the creation of a truly pleasant, comfortable society becomes possible. This is the state of paradise on earth.

“Binetsu to Iu Mono,” one of two of Meishu-sama’s essays published on the front page of Eikō, Issue 120,  September 5, 1951, has appeared in translation. Citation is given below for reference. “Binetsu to Iu Mono” was reprinted in the anthology Igaku Kankei Goronbun Shū (Collected Essays on Medical Science) that did enjoy a limited circulation. Igaku Kankei Goronbun Shū contains no publication data, but internal evidence suggests that its compilation stopped several months preceding Meishu-sama’s death. Furthermore, since the book lacks publication data, whether the volume had Meishu-sama’s imprimatur or not is unknown, so details concerning this volume are probably impossible to research.
