“Misconception About Diarrhea”
Divine Medical Science Fragments Nine
In medical circles, diarrhea is said to be harmful to health and is often attributed to being the cause of a particular sickness, but such declarations are made only because the true cause of disease in general is not understood. Diarrhea does not influence health in any way, so sufferers should have no basis for concern. I have written on this subject previously, but something foolish put about is that the cause of some infantile and children’s diseases is diarrhea that arises from food poisoning. There really should be a limit to ridiculous statements. Such declarations are probably made because fecal matter is thought to overflow and spread throughout the entire body, but such is not the case. When there is no stool, the fecal matter gradually hardens within the rectum. Laxatives and enemas are used to forcefully dispel the hardened mass from the rectum, but such measures rather only worsen the condition, because laxatives and enemas weaken further the body’s defecating function and instead cause regular constipation.
