My Light
This essay is a chapter from the book Creation of Heaven. Because there is a need for disclosure as soon as possible, I run it here.
As regards Buddhism, hitherto I have written about various aspects that have not been taught, and these are of course matters that I have learned through divine revelation, so those who have read them are probably wide-eyed in amazement. It may be asked why God had not clarified such matters before, and the reason is that it was not the right time. What I mean by the right time is what I have referred to previously, the transition from night to day, a great epoch. In other words, rapidly approaching is the time when the age of night which has long continued until now, that is, the world of darkness and ignorance, will disappear to be followed by the world of daylight, a brightly shining world of the light of the sun. Even though I call our present world pitch black night, matters were perceived and known to a certain extent by the light of the moon. Human beings were pleased by that slight amount. This knowledge was the teaching of the moon of truth-thus ness, that is, Buddhism.
As stated above, matters and affairs were clarified only by the dim light of the moon, so nothing could be understood clearly. In any case, the light of the moon has only one sixtieth of the intensity of that of the sun. Therefore, in the age of night, it was only natural that all, not to speak of religion, was not entirely visible. For which case, confusion was born within human beings, and true peace of mind was not to be had. However, when it becomes daylight, all on earth under the sun of the heavens will be clearly and plainly exposed, so there will nothing that is not understood. Therefore, for me who is to create the civilization of daylight, it is only natural that I understand all. So, if I were to elaborate even more so the relationship between me and the world of daylight, it would be this. Within me, indwells the jewel of divine light, what has since antiquity been called the jewel of Cintamani. I have announced this publicly before, but allow me to write in detail here more about the light.
Usually, light is thought of in terms of the sun itself, but that is not entirely correct. Light is actually a fusion of the sun and the moon. Thus, the extremes of both elements are the essence of light. As that light is lodged within my physical body, since the physical body is the element, the spirit of earth, it becomes a trinity of fire, water, and earth. And, if it were only this, it could be thought that the average person is nothing but the spirit of earth, but not so. Each individual has light within, but the amount is small and energy, weak. However, the light within me is very strong, millions, ney billions more so than the average person, so infinitely great, to the extent that it is beyond understanding. It would be fair to say it surpasses all imagination. The proof of this are the letters on the talismans that I am now writing every day. There are three kinds: those that are inscribed with either Light, Divine Light, or Great Divine Light. When put into a packet and hung around the neck, these letters have the power to immediately cure the sick. This very power is the light radiated from the talisman. However, when I write these talismans, I do not pray or do anything else out of the ordinary. I simply write them at a terrific speed. On the average I can write one every seven seconds, so it is quite easy for me to write five hundred in an hour. If just one of these pieces of paper can heal thousands of individuals, in the future when millions get these pieces of paper, the results will be the same. In which case, the power of the light I manifest can be imagined.
As this is the greatness of the power I wield, there is nothing that I cannot understand. As my followers well know, to whatever question I am asked, I am not pressed for an answer. When there is someone suffering from an illness a great distance away and I receive a telegram or message asking for blessings, in many cases that is enough to receive a blessing. The very instant the report enters my ears, a part of my light branches off and connects to that person. In this way, the light is radiated in thousands of degrees of energy to locations no matter how distant. To describe it simply, what is radiated from me could be called a bullet of light. Needless to say, unlike the bullet we know, my bullets do not kill people, my bullets revive them, give them life. Physical bullets are finite but mine are infinite.
The preceding is an overall explanation, but it is only one small part of the explanation of the power, the energy of my light. It is not easy to make a full explanation. The best way to understand the power of my light is to open your eyes and watch what I do from now on. There is no reason why a person whose intelligence works to a certain extent cannot understand. In terms of faith, it can be understood by the affinity of one’s body and soul, so even in that sense, persons of faith should polish their bodies and souls and make certain they have no cloud. Doing so, they will achieve enlightenment and thus understand my power and my virtue.

“Watakushi no Hikari,” which was originally published in Chijōtengoku, Issue 36, May 25, 1952, page 5, and, while Meishu-sama still alive, reprinted in Goshinsho: Shūkyō-hen (Divine Writings: Volume on Religion), March 25, 1954, page 401, has previously appeared in translation. Citation is given below for reference. Although Meishu-sama states in the beginning of the essay that “Watakushi no Hikari” is a chapter from Creation of Civilization, no such title or similar text appeared in the manuscript that was published in 1971 from which all subsequent printings have been taken. An idea of where Meishu-sama had been planning on including this essay, and also why in the last draft he made, not included, can be had from the first line that says: “As regards Buddhism, hitherto I have written about various aspects….” If by this he meant after all the chapters he wrote on Buddhism, then “Watakushi no Hikari” was probably slated to come after “Greater Vehicle-type Buddhism in Lesser Vehicle Buddhism,” chapter 12 of the third part, “Book of Religion.” Indeed, after this chapter, chapters go on to cover Christianity, ending at the end of part three with the chapter “Warp and Woof.”
