ANALYSIS OF TOXIC ELEMENT

　　Now I will turn to the explanation of toxic element. Essentially, the toxic element is, in a manner, impure blood or clouds in the sprit as I have already described. The clouds are, of course, generated by the filth of sin resulted from wrongdoing. Such view of the filth of sin has long been, as it were, monopolized by religion, but regrettably, the way it has been preached until now is so naive, like you ought not to do what is evil because it brings you filth of sin, that, for people in the past it might be different, but for modern people, whose brains are rational and scientific, it cannot possibly be acceptable. For this reason, the explanation must be built up firmly as a verified systematic theory at any cost.

　　Then, since this world in which we exist consists of the spiritual world and the material worlds, a human being, in like wise, consists of the spirit and the material body, both of which are closely connected and inseparable from each other: the principle of oneness between the spiritual and the corporeal, that is to say, the spiritual and the corporeal coincide. Thus, what clouds of the spirit reflect on the body would be impure blood, and vice versa, what impure blood reflects on the spirit would be clouds. This is the most important point, so be prepared to read the following. And now let me explain from the perspective of the spiritual aspect. If a person has done an evil deed, the sin becomes his or her spiritual clouds, and when the clouds have accumulated to some extent, purification occurs. This purification would take the form of disease, disaster or legal punishment, and any person who still has the clouds slipped out of these painful purifications would instead receive spiritual punishment imposed by the law of God. No matter how cunningly he or she could escape from this punishment, though, since the punishment imposed by God is categorical, the clouds reflect on the body and bring great physical pain to the evil doer. As a matter of course, the disease in this case is malignant, and mostly fatal. And the earlier an evil is punished, the lighter the punishment will be, which is just like a debt, the later a debt is paid off, the more compound interest will have piled up. In rare cases, however, there are some evil doers who evade cleverly the punishment by God as well as by men, but as soon as they have gotten to the spiritual world after their death, they go straight down to the very bottom of Hell because of their burden of sin, so no matter how wicked they have been, they cannot but repent bitterly of their sins. More specifically, this place corresponds to the Avici or Muken hell (the eighth and most painful of the eight hells) called by Buddhism, Nesoko-no-kuni (the bottom of the bottoms of the spiritual world) named by Shintoism or the hell of the hells described in the Inferno of Dante's Divine Comedy. In any case, because this place being the world of total darkness with no light or heat, they can see nothing and continue to be in a frozen state for hundreds of years, however atrocious the villains are, they cannot but give in. Men of today would find it very difficult to believe in what I have just mentioned above, but you can have absolute trust in me because all this is what I have heard directly from a lot of spirits in the course of my study in the spiritual world, so there is nothing untruth at all in my descriptions.

　　My focus of description goes back a little: As a result of wrongdoing, the wrongdoer feels bitter remorse and this pain in the heart is exactly a light kind of purification. It would be good if repentance occurs, but mostly this does not happen and wrongdoings repeat themselves after all. Of course, the amount of spiritual clouds is proportionate to the degree of wrongdoing or the nature of the sin itself, but there is also another factor, which comes from other people. That is: If one torments others, those who have been tormented get angry or bear a grudge against the tormentor, so the sufferers' thoughts and intentions are conveyed to the spirit of the person who caused these sufferings, which generate clouds in his or her spiritual body. On the contrary, if one makes others happy and does good to them, their thoughts of appreciation grow into light and are transmitted back to one, and the light will reduce his or her spiritual clouds. However, even in this case, the more secretly one does good, viz., without the beneficiary knowing, the greater reward one receives from God; this is the solemn law of God and can never be changed by any means. Since that's how things are in the spiritual world and absolute truth, humans cannot help but believe and obey it. Just like the above, purification process of clouds is the cause of disease and other calamities, if so and you want to achieve happiness, it is a must to stop doing evils and do good so as to keep your spirit away from being clouded.

　　Next, I will write about the physical aspect of toxic element. You know, impure blood as the sauce of disease originates in medical poison. Basically, all medical agents are poisonous substance. Nevertheless, people have long been taking them for beneficial stuff as healer, which is a total mistake and this is precisely because they have not known the fundamental truth that disease is the process of purification. Now I will describe the principal mechanism of medical poison based on my firsthand experience. It sometimes happens that a patient who has been cured once by Johrei relapses into the same disease after a while. We categorize this as "re-purification," because at the stage of the first Johrei, a part of toxic element which has initially manifested as illness or purification is dispelled, so the patient gets well and feels comfortable once. However, as soon as the person restarts to be active and sets out to work, since his or her body has regained vital energies, even more activated purification occurs. That is to say, the sick become healthy by receiving Johrei and precisely because of becoming healthy another purification or disease occurs, and with this process repeating again and again, they gradually recover their health. Thus, in the stage of re-purification, as the purification is rather intensive, a high fever or a powerful cough comes. This is because the old hardened phlegm, which is identified by being thick and having a smell of medicine, is coughed up, and of course, loss of appetite, weakness, etc. follow, and on rare occasions, death comes. The statistics until now shows that, of one hundred people who were completely cured by Johrei, 7 people died in the process of re-purification, so the rest, that is, 93 percent of the people cured by Johrei have been perfectly healthy and now they are all full of activity.

　　As to this amazing rate of curing by Johrei, the still more wondrous fact is that most patients who come to us are limited to those with serious cases and received medical treatments, folk remedies or faith healings, etc. but in vain and was driven to the brink of death, whereas we have achieved the excellent result reported above, which I suppose people cannot possibly believe. By the way, as for even the above mentioned 7 people who ended in death, they all died precisely because of a huge amount of medicine that they had taken before, so Johrei is, basically, the method for eliminating medical poison, which is evident by seeing the fact that, above all things, a patient gets better to the extent that medical poison decreases. If that's the case, it is not so difficult to change Japan into a country with no tuberculosis. This goal could be brought about much enough by the two things: to make a clean sweep of medicine throughout the country and to encourage Japanese people to get a common cold.

　　And since the Creator has created human beings as the central characters of this planet, as much food as can support their lives is produced and they are given the taste. Therefore, if only we enjoy eating what we want to eat, that's enough to maintain our health and need not take the trouble to think about nutrition at all. This is made possible by the same natural reason as that of sexual desire, which is not for having a child but for another purpose, and carrying out this purpose, a child would be granted without thinking. If so, it goes without saying that a human being must not take in any foreign matter except foods. Accordingly, tasteless or bitter stuff suggests in itself just by its being tasteless or bitter that the stuff is what human beings must not eat. Not knowing this, it has long been said, "Good medicine tastes bitter," which, I must say, is a fundamental mistake. Thus, the digestive function is designed not to process anything but foods, so because medicines also are foreign substances, they are left without being processed, which become the source of disease. About this, since it has much to do with smallpox, I will write about this issue in the next chapter.
